It’s a sad day for Aussie cubers. Daily Puzzles (Australia’s largest twisty puzzle retailer) have announced that they’re closing down :(.

Hey! I’m in Aussie too :)

Definitely a sad day. The (older?) cube shops, speedcube.com.au, also closed down recently. To be fair though, I’ve mostly been buying cubes from the Chinese stores since they’re significantly cheaper and they actually ship pretty quickly. Where do you buy your cubes from?

Sorry for the late thread. Was on holiday and forgot to check if the scheduled post went up. Will need to check what’s happening with the scheduler.

In any case, I was on holiday for a month without a cube. Finally got back home and got a couple new ones since my main broke. I got the MoYu WRM V9 and the RS3M V5. Out of the box I definitely like the V5 better. Just like the reviews say, V9 magnets are very strong and it just feels strange. I think it requires more setup but it might be better if I can get that right. V5 also requires some setup but out of the box it’s much more usable.

I recently got a second RS3M 2021, and discovered that my original one was in fact not an RS3M 2021 at all.

Any tips for identifying what I have?

It’s MoYu brand, magnetic (but not maglev), very light, with a shiny surface finish.

Maybe an older RS3M? How is it different than the RS3M 2021 that you got?

I don’t think it is an older RS3M, as I have (I think) every cube in that series, and it doesn’t match the MF3, MF3S, MF3RS, MF3RS2, RS3, RS3M, and RS3M 2020. I suppose there is always a chance that one of those could be wrong too, but I think they matched the pictures on the boxes.

Any other MoYu 3x3s it could be?

Unfortunately I’m not very familiar with all of MoYu’s line. If the logo on the cube is exactly the same then I would guess it’s one of the MF3RS series as their WRM ones usually have different logo. But other than that, I have no idea.
