My opinion is no. I think making KicksassWomenNSFW would be a better idea. If nsfw posts start showing up here, people like me will block the sub.

Out of curiosity, why?
Because I’m not here for nsfw content, and I’d rather not see it when I’m browsing random sfw content, so I block it all. I’m not anti-nsfw, but keeping it separate seems like a good idea. If others don’t agree that’s fine. I’m not going to complain if this sub includes nsfw content, but I won’t stick around either.
Well what if I were to mark those posts as NSFW so that if you don’t want to see them, Lemmy won’t show them to you? Would that work?
The only way people can see NSFW content on Lemmy is if they have it enabled in their Settings panel:
That seems like it could work. Maybe it’s worth a trial. Iirc though the posts still show up in my app, but are just blurred out, which isn’t a great experience.
I agree if nsfw material is allowed in this sub, it will absolutely take it over, and there are dozens of subs devoted to nsfw content.
I have no strong opinions either way.
I’m wondering if you can give me some insight into this strange phenomenon: on Reddit, whenever I used to post NSFW pics, I used to get a lot of upvotes but for some reason such pics don’t get many upvotes on Lemmy. Why don’t Lemmy users upvote NSFW pics? Do they not like them?
I have no idea. Americans with their weird puritanical foundation maybe? I think overall people here are nicer and more thoughtful than the overall feel from when I was on reddit (which has been quite a while to be honest). Maybe just such a lower number of users.
Also, people on Lemmy seem to be older than users on Reddit so maybe that’s why they might not like nsfw content
Not that I expect that it’s a fundamental reason for any behaviour discrepancy, but Reddit and Lemmy are different in that all Lemmy actions, including what you upvote, is publicly available information.

I’m not aware of a trivial way to do it, but as far as I understand it, any instance operator that’s federated w/ the content would have the data.
