I’ve found using " Fair enough" kinda speeds things up, people want to feel like they’re in the right in these stories, so saying fair enough gives them the acceptance they want and feel like you actually listened, even tho you tuned out ages ago.
I just tell them, politely. Dude. You’re talking my ear off. No, it’s all good. Don’t be sorry. Just dial it down a bit my b’y.
