For me, I like forests because they don’t have thousands of cars driving through them which makes them nice and quiet.

      And not many people either.

Of course. Humans are not born to live in square apartments next to noisy and ugly things.

The forest is absolutely beautiful and spiritually healing.

Humans can’t even make anything as beautiful as a tree. We just make square things and blocks. We like when things are in a straight line with equal height and width. We like symmetry in everything.

But real beauty is the forest.

Humans can make beautiful things, even beautiful architecture, just look in a museum. It’s just they’re not going for beauty when designing residential housing, usually.

Counterpoint: Islamic architecture and Art Nouveau. To be fair, both are heavily inspired by nature.

What do you mean ‘real beauty’? I don’t see any means to consider ‘beauty’ as anything but subjective, existing only in the eyes of the beholder.

I’ve heard this is common to humans. A clearing, with a forest and visible water is generally a “perfect” spot for people, and why there are so many paintings of such a place.

Yes but I think I have an idea as to why. I’m a mechanic by trade so my day is making sure everything is within spec or functioning properly. In the woods everything is chaos but it’s supposed to be; it’s novel. The solitude is a bonus.

Absolutely. If I didn’t need to work I’d buy a plot in the woods and build myself a cabin and live there away from other people.

It’s nature calling. Forests are the way. Not roads and cities.

I love forests, they are quiet enough to be calming yet active enough to not be overwhelming and I get more exercise and I also remember things better

I moved to the country side and lived on a farm for a year or so. It was nice, but got very boring after a while. Now I prefer to live in the city and escaye to the wilderness on my bicycle
