Just a recommendation - this might be one to skip if you have combat-related PTSD. The scenes from the trailer were quite realistic, and that was on my phone.

It can be difficult to tell ahead of time what will trigger a flashback or other reaction. Marvel movies, for example, include a significant level of guns and violence, but I have never experienced a reaction from them. Other movies, like Blackhawk Down, can send me into a spiral for a couple of days. I also cannot stand movies where the Army Man is the superhero as a result of his elite training - which was and remains a trope in many horror movies. Those don’t cause flashbacks, they just piss me off.

This was just a NSFW type flag for those folks who might be subject to that kind of reaction.

Yeah, there are quite a few gruesome scenes in the movie. Definitely one to avoid if you are squeamish or might have flashbacks.

Alex Garland is an interesting director. Ex Machina is a classic! Men was a bit of a let down after that but overall I enjoyed it, and thought it was a decent film.

The marketing seems a bit cynical for this latest film but I’m intrigued so it must be working. He’s got some good will out of me due to his previous work.

I am excited to see this. The reviews are mixed but they all seem to say the same thing. It’s a non-political movie about a civil war. Interested to see how they pull that off.

I went to see it. It’s very non-political. If you are expecting a satire, it is not. If you want to see the other side owned. You won’t.

If you want to see how division is bad for the country, go see it. It’s a tense movie and well done.

When you say “non-political”, what do you mean?

The movie is about national division. I find it strange that any movie could do that without having any politics in it.

I went and saw it and would say the same. It’s not political. It’s really just sort of not about that.

I’d absolutely suggest it, especially if you are familiar with Alex Garland.
