Some nurse was asking how to avoid work in the work reform instance, and I guess people have plenty of reasons why this is OK…

Whenever I try to post, comment or even up or downvote, it just is a spinning circle

Is this a shadow ban?

I’ve since blocked the instance, nothing productive is coming out of there…

It would just have been nice to get a message telling me to fuck off.

Is this how mods handle things now?

No direct communication, just passive aggressive behavior?

You were banned for “rude and inappropriate language”

Accusing someone in an anti work community of being a lazy fuck will typically result in a ban. I agree you should get some notice of that ban though.

      So work reform=anti work?

You’re just regular banned. I’m not sure shadow banning is possible on lemmy. The difference is shadow bans are hard to detect, they website functions the same to you, your comments and posts get sent, you see them, but no one else does. Banning is more straightforward and you just can’t do anything.

Did you post there before? If not, I’d think it’s unlikely you we banned. But I don’t know exactly how bans work either. I think after I was banned from memes on .ml for saying China has issues I was still able to post comments, but I wasn’t able to see them from other accounts or when not logged in. So the loading circle sounds more like federation issues maybe? At least that’s not how I’ve seen bans work before.
