I imagine we all have at least one original race that we know no sane player would touch, but really wish they would.
Tell me what you love about yours, and why no TPK-fearing player would go near it.
Mine is mothfolk. They’re gifted magic users with flight and natural armor, and half of them are badass demon-worshippers who teach magic to skeletons for fun.
No player would ever touch them though, because they’re 3.5 feet tall, only live a bit overa decade, can’t talk, and have no natural healing capacity.
Supplement your mothfolk with Tick-kin: borderline indestructible, massive, and strong, but can’t form new memories and also have amnesia.
The memory issues thing is what’s going to make me finally see this show.
D-D-D-D-D-D-Dangerboat!
Eldarin.
I know not a single person that can explain who they are beyond “just elves with some weird abilities I can’t recall now”.
I’d never heard about Eladrin. Thanks! Fey in general are really great for adding some magical “character” to a world. Spells and other magic “stuff” often feels mechanical and too straightforward, but a really strange fey gives a lot of “not in Kansas anymore” vibes just by having entirely alien preferences and priorities.
