When was Turkey ever on Russia’s side??? It was one of Ukraine’s most important allies from day one of the war (remember the Bayraktar song?), and has been a principal geopolitical antagonist of Russia for 150 years or so…
They’ve taken the role of trying to mediate between the countries instead of actively taking Ukraines side, I can’t argue for whether that’s good or not though, I honestly have no idea how Turkeys energy should best be spent.
