This is one of my favorites. Utah was a huge fan of this idea he called “the long memory”. The long memory is the idea that as long as we know where our movement comes from, we’ll have the knowledge to combat both new and old tactics meant to divide us. This song describes the true story of labor conditions and direct action in Spokane, Washington in the 1910 Free Speech Fight by the International Workers of the World.
