The total cost of the aid package to Israel is 26.4 billion dollars, but it will also include humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

4 billion dollars to replenish the arsenal of anti-missile missiles for the Iron Dome and David’s Board air defense systems, as well as to purchase new batteries.

1.2 billion dollars will be allocated for the Iron Beam laser missile defense system, the development of which is being finalized.

4.4 billion dollars will be used to rebuild stockpiles of conventional ammunition (mainly artillery, tank shells and aerial bombs)

3.5 billion is for the purchase of “advanced weapon systems” and defense pay.

2.4 billion is for the U.S. Central Command in the Middle East to help Israel repel threats by the U.S. military.

9-plus billion will go for humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, i.e., for the Gaza Strip.

p.s… I really want to believe that the Americans will take into account their earlier mistakes and the aid to Gaza will really be only humanitarian.

Help Israel repel threats by the US military

Is this just weirdly worded? It reads to me like the US govt gave some aid to help Israel fight off the US military?

It’s very poorly worded. That chunk of funding is for CENTCOM (the US AOR for the middle east) for repelling attacks on Israel, like shooting down Iranian drones, etc.

Wouldn’t surprise me, Biden will do anything for Israel and he knows a future president may want to hold Israel accountable for its genocide so they arming them to make sure that can’t happen.
