I thought this was interesting. I am not against private lakes if they are created but this was a natural lake.

While technically not entirely man-made, the reservoir known as “Lake Oswego” was originally a mere channel. After the dam was built, the waters swelled to their current volume (+/-), and went through a few names before settling on “Oswego”.
They just expanded the lake. Natural resources should be available for everyone unless there is a valid reason to deny access.
I am a big fan of the Swedish concept of Allemansratt.
I’m not against Allemansratt, in essence, but “just expanded the lake” is both inaccurate and unhelpful.
