Start of pay day vs end of pay day. All the bills get paid then. I’m just a wage slave, working for the right to exist.

Honestly I sail through the month with little awareness of pay or bills, and occasionally glance to check that they’re being paid.

And wow, when I think about that and remember a different time, I am thankful as fuck.

We were so poor, we once cherished the gift of some blue paint leftovers for it meant we could cover our plywood floors and keep the splinters down since we had neither carpet nor anything else on the home dad and mom bought and intended to fix up before 1983 and 17% mortgages happened.

We’re not awesome, but some economic mobility was possible for us.

This was me when I was young. Putting 5USD of fuel into my car, asking friends for travel money to hang out.

I’m in my 30s now and I don’t make an insane amount of money, but I don’t even think about money ever anymore. I’m just spending less money and have a bunch saved up.

I’m the opposite cause I plan based on a budget.

At the end of the month, if it’s been a cheap month, there is excess budget to spend or roll over to the next month!
