As the war stretches on indefinitely, there are few eager recruits and Kyiv’s armed forces are short of soldiers
there must be some support role they can fill that doesn’t necessarily mean combat.
Forcing them to kill over land is pretty fucked up. No human should be forced to kill another human against their will.
Russia is horrible for doing it and Ukraine is horrible for doing it. Forced conscription is a crime against humanity.
Land… and the people that live on it. Being a forced citizen of Russia is not a great outcome. Ask some folks as they leave the torture chambers. Conscription is rough, but there’s a clear difference in conscription to attack and destroy a nation and its people, or defend it. It’s totally reasonable for people to lose their citizenship if they want others to defend it while they hide. War sucks, but being conquered by Russia sucks more.
