The headline is a lie. Universities are doing this anyway, and using the pressure as an excuse to do the horrible and bigoted things they have always wanted to do anyway.
Either it wasn’t a problem to fight them before, or they are now using this as an excuse to revert to their previous state. As always, bigotry is on the menu.
Can you elaborate? All my friends in academia have told me that the administration is sympathetic but afraid to make public statements, since they don’t want to scare off conservative students. That’s a far cry from wanting to purge the gays
