It says a lot that this is the “harshest” criticism…

Israel is currently the US’ closest ‘ally’ in the Middle East. Not that Israel wouldn’t turn on the US in a heartbeat, but the US needs Israel to maintain force in the region. Add to that, Israel is Jewish. In light of events almost 100 years ago, it’s a bit problematic to criticise anything a group of Jewish people do.

The US can’t exactly come out and say anything that would be too disruptive to their relationship with Israel.

That’s kind of outdated excuse from when Israel was acting like the only rational country…

Israel is a liability for stability, and really it always has been.

The reason we needed an “ally” is we overthrew a bunch of democracies and installed religious extremists in the other countries.

Israel was just the lightning rod to direct their anger. Now they’re the ones attacking neighboring countries.

We call a relationship that is founded on gas lighting, material gifts, and genocide as abusive. And its really easy to say isreal is committing a genocide, i just did, most countries already do.

If that’s the cost to have an ally in the Middle East, then they are not an ally.

Also, did the US release their report about if isreal was involved in war crimes using us guns? I mean of course they were, but the admission was supposed to be out last week, and they swore they were not stalling and that it was only going to be late by 1 day.

If the US straight up turns on Israel, they can just call some other country and be like “hey, wanna be our friend? We got all this American tech you can examine, trade you for working missile platforms!”

They will also be like “oh, you know all that spying we do for you and all that spyware we develop for you and all those hacking devices we’ve come up with? Well, no more for you!”

Among the more obvious problems presented there, do you think, for example, the State Department wants to get into a grudge match with the CIA? That the NSA wants to lose updated capabilities against the next generation of tech? That the Army wants it known how to jam their weapons platforms?

They made their bed with Israel and they didn’t hold their feet to the fire when they acted like an apartheid state 70 years ago, and now they’re in too deep to change course.

So the fact that you’re seeing any criticism at all means Israel’s actions are so egregious, so obvious, and so well know that even a blackmailed superpower is like “ok maybe we gotta consider the optics here”. THAT is why so many people are saying this is huge.

Most countries do, but the US has either made it illegal or intends to make it illegal to make such claims. Israel owns America. I seriously question whether Epstein was a Mossad asset.

U.S. admits Israel never had a plan and that they continued sending them money and weapons. Me thinks they should be listening more to Bernie and less to Netanyahu

Yeah no shit. You cannot safely move 1.2 million people back into an area bombed, burned and utterly destroyed without any sanitation, any water, any medical infrastructure…

The whole “needs a credible plan” is already an excuse to be able to move the goalposts in the same way that the talk about a “large scale” invasion is to move the goalposts.

Or maybe Israel just isn’t sharing their plans with the US administration anymore?
