ID.3 1st. Max Pro Performance (2021). Getting it next week. It’s on firmware 2.3 (912). Can I update it OTA, or do I have to go to a VW dealer ?

Obviously you are in Europe, and as a US ID.4 owner I envy you your ID.3. And idk if the software situation is different in Europe. BUT: for ID.4 in the US, if you have software 2.3 then you have to go to the dealer to update software. After the patch the software can update OTA.

I bet it’s the same here. Guess I have to stop by VW then. Thanks

From 2.3 you’ll need to head to the dealer - the step up on 2.3 to 3.0 may also require some hardware changes/updates (a heavy duty 12v battery and possibly a controller or two, I’ve heard). 3.2 update might be done at the same time, and that looks at replacing modules in the main battery.

You can paste your VIN at VWs Australian support site to see check if any service campaign and/or recall applies to your Volkswagen vehicle: https://www.volkswagen.com.au/app/locals/owners-service/service-campaigns-recalls

Thanks. Made an Appointment next month for the 3.2 update. They told me there was a 3.5 coming very soon, but they didn’t know if it would be OTA

As I understand it, it should be OTA once 3.2 is working.

I hope so, and i hope i can set up the app once i get on 3.2. But i was hoping to get the app working before. A month is a long time to wait 😜

Tell me about it. I booked my third week of August appointment in early May.
