They don’t care. It’s paid out by the taxpayers. The NYPD loves their license to discriminate.
I’d be more giddy about that except it’s not the cops who ever pay. It’s just the city (and thus, by extension, the taxpayers and their non-policing interests). And the city will keep sucking on the department’s toes.
Keep making it more expensive to suck on their toes and perhaps eventually they’ll stop.
