At least 23 advisories are in place warning against bathing at beaches and rivers across England as the swimming season begins.
The Environment Agency begins testing water quality in May and publishes the results via the Swimfo website to help people decide where and when to swim.
With more warm weather forecast for much of the country this weekend, hundreds of designated bathing spots are deemed clean enough to enjoy.
This is exactly as expected. The EU was why our beaches were not as bad before. Our own government, which is far too often Tory, put profit of their mates above public health. I blame FPTP and corruption.

I assume the pollution didn’t just magically ignore Wales, but the map makers did
These results are from the Environment Agency testing in England only. Testing in Wales is carried out by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) - and by DEARA in NI and by SEPA in Scotland. I don’t think that they all publish their results at the same time though.
