We had General West, Hammond, Dr Weir, O’Neill, and Landry.

Who should be the next commander of the SGC and what role will the project play after the defeat if the Goa’uld and the Ori?

It’s been a long while, so it might be time for General Lorne.

Instead of a court martial, she makes people do foot rubs?

No, instead of a court martial she’d hold a Mal Doran.

Carter should be on the list. Let’s not forget that Carter was the leader of Atlantis, so I think he’ll make a good leader of SG1.

Do you not think her talents would be wasted in a leadership role? Sure she has the experience, and could easily get the rank, but she might be more valuable as head scientist either way the SGC or at area 51.

She was stuck behind a desk in Atlantis.

She’ll be the leader, so she’ll be able to instil a more scientific culture and fight politically for more funding for scientific research. Basically, she’ll be the spokesperson for science.

McKay will be a very capable chief scientist.

Besides the obvious of Carter, I’d say Major Paul Davis, assuming he gets a few promotions (which he is way overdue for), would be ideal.

He’s been around the program for a long time, trusted by the SGC and the Pentagon and knows how to work with both politicians and with field personnel.

Good suggestion. He was always fair, direct, and never got emotional about important decisions.
