Considering that Disney said none of the EU content other than the cartoons they did before the buyout was canon the moment they bought LucasFilm, I would have to agree. Though I wouldn’t say it was lost. Shit was straight up thrown in the garbage.

Common mistake. Star Wars guy was him and his wife at the time.

Star Wars guy died on the way back to his home planet.

“I’m a stubborn guy and I didn’t want people to tell me how to make my movies,” is how Star Wars creator George Lucas summed up the secret to his success reason the Prequel Trilogy is problematic

Fixed that for you George. You’re welcome.

I think the prequels were fine. Not as bad as people made out, but still not a good as the original. The sequels were just bad and I think they’ll stay bad.

If Lucas did the sequels I don’t think they would’ve been good, but I would have preferred to see whatever they would have been than what Disney made.

Grow up George. Those are Disney’s movies, not yours.

( George Lucas said, "Grow up. These are my movies, not yours” when commenting on fans restoring the original movies instead of Lucas’ version where Greedo shot first and Jabba was poorly CGI’d.)

Then I would name you a liar, Ser Reach!

Just kidding. You can like it all if you want. I love that modern Star Wars is basically a big buffet where you can take what you want and leave what you don’t want. If you want to gobble down everything on the buffet table, have at it.

Honestly it is great that Star Wars has such variety! I never used to like it all, but finding head canon and leniency has helped a lot to enjoy the more disagreeable parts (think episode 9).

But yes you’d be right, since I will never like the holiday special, nor allow myself to see more than a YouTube video about it 👀

    lol, ya think?

    my list:

Star Wars (no, I will never ever call it that other thing) The Empire Strikes Back Rogue One Andor The Mandalorian Solo

that’s it, that’s the whole list. and no I didn’t forget that one (killer jungle teddy bears my dick). you can keep every other bastard “Star Wars” thing they’ve tried to foist on us, which has all every one make me feel run over and used for either my cash and/or my time.

If you haven’t seen it, check out The Clone Wars. Quality from episode to episode varies, but overall, it’s highly rated and towards the end of the series it’s some of the best Star Wars content there is. You can find lists online of the best essential episodes to watch.

I’ve been rewatching the series (…again, for like the seventh time), and it really is excellent at filling in the missing details regarding how Anakin fell from being a hero of the Republic.

I just hit season 3 with the Mortis episodes. They are * chef’s kiss * excellent episodes.

I really thought that Rebels followed a similar trajectory to The Clone Wars in that the first season was good but not great, but then the seasons that followed were fantastic at world building and character development.

I hate the Mortis stuff. Not that it’s badly written, but I don’t like what it does to the cosmology of Star Wars. The more we try to add to the mythology of The Force, the more I feel it loses what made it so special in the first trilogy.

That being said, I agree with everything else you said. And my opinion doesn’t count for much since obviously through Ahsoka we’re further canonizing the Mortis stuff.

That’s fair. If you have a lot of reverence for the OT and didn’t like what the PT brought to Star Wars, then I can understand.

            You’re wrong, but I understand. /s

I don’t hate the PT. Phantom Menace brought some of the best visuals to grace the franchise. My exuberant praise of the PT pretty well begins and ends with Duel of the Fates and Podracing, so I’ll just leave it there lest anyone decide to invoke a religious war over it.

Rebels is currently my favorite Star Wars content. Kanan is what the Jedi should be, not the decaying Order of the prequels.

Although Obi Wan was pretty meh, I think that most of the recent stories set during the Rise of the Empire are the best because the heros are the underdogs and the Empire is such a formidable foe. I think a lot was missed by not exploring the The First Order’s rise, and just that we were introduced to them as the new badies who are just like the empire. I guess Disney is relying on Filoni to fix that after the damage has been done.

I cannot stand nor can I watch that style of animation (all angular and ugly) couldn’t do it the first time I saw it, and was supremely disappointed they kept that style throughout all the subsequent SW animation. Could be the holy grail of Star Wars for all I know, I can’t enjoy watching it, is all.

I think the stories are good, but people need to realize that you’re allowed to not like things. Props for sticking to your opinion.

You also reminded me that I should re-watch Solo.

cheers for that, mate. SOLO was/is a great Star Wars movie, and I would have watched so many more of those, if it hadn’t been shoveled under in the post Last Jedi debacle retraction.

      Star wars: the original series

Star Wars: the previous (next) generation

      Star Wars: lite, new recipe

Star wars: original, a retro call back to the original flavor

      Star wars: clones…
