Difficult to judge the room in such a new community, but I’ll get it off my chest nice and early. I am 100% against the Qatari bid. For me it’s the end of any sort of wholesome reason to support United. Some will argue it’s the modern way and that we have to keep up with the times, but as much as I hate what the Glazers have done to the club, their final act of treason would be to sell to some sportswashing slave owners.

    EDIT: I can’t spell

I feel the same and it’s really fucking hard, since emotionally I’m pretty invested in the team and where it’s going, but I can’t get my mind behind the sportswashing.

I was 100% with you months back, I’m slightly warming to the Quataris mainly because I don’t think we would have enough investment from Ineos. I know they have Billions but they are still a business and would want to see some profit if assume. The main reason why the Sir Jim bid irks me is keeping the glazers in any way shape or form.

Under no circumstances though will I ever feel the same way about Utd again. Under any of the proposed ownerships. It’s all oil, chemicals and sportswashing.

I completely get wanting the investment. If United are to be competitive, someone needs to drag them out of the toilet. I realise how lucky I was to spend my teens and 20s watching the team I support win everything but some things are more important. I feel sorry for younger fans but for me personally, it’s probably time to call it a day if the Qataris come in. With Ratcliffe I could just about carry on. Ineos are a horrible company but it really seems like he’s doing it for emotional reasons as it doesn’t make business sense. Better than the Glazers and Qataris IMO even if it isn’t a high bar.

I’m gonna huff some copium and say that he probably has to set this up in advance, regardless of whether or not he wins the bid, as if he didn’t then that could slow the takeover down (slower than it already has been). Ineos are already registered in the UK so we won’t see anything like this for SJR.

Completely agreed on this. Just feel like they’d have done that earlier or not al all depending on if they we’re winning or not. I can’t see them backing down now.

Given the rumor mill, I think the Qatari seemed like the preferred choice for the Glazers. I hope that this ends with some funds for the squad.
