I loved getting lost in these posters. Half to escape and half to learn. Like a little me would go live in the poster for a while.
My adult daughter said a big version of this was on the wall in her elementary school classroom, so yeah.

Really it’s a narrow bit of land that would be a peninsula if it wasn’t for the large bit of land on each end
The famous isthmus is the Isthmus of Panama, the narrow part of the Americas where the canal runs
I thought a Point was also a feature, like Cape.
These confused me more than they educated really. Still do!
Whats the difference between a bay and a gulf? A prairie and a plain? W coast and a beach? A strait and a channel? A river and a channel? A basin and a valley?
