Hi, guys! I’m new to this so I would like to know what client you use for Lemmy in Android. Currently, I’m using Boost. Any other suggestions?

I’ll second Firefox as I quite like the web app version of Lemmy. You can even add it to your home screen as a PWA which will remove the address bar and any sign that you’re just in a web browser

That said, I’m using the Sync app cause after updating my phone (I’m using Graphene), the PWA wouldn’t keep me signed in for some reason. It’s perfectly usable without a subscription; every few posts there’s an ad, but they aren’t super annoying and they all look like adds and not normal posts which goes a long way. You can make a one-time purchase to remove ads instead of a monthly subscription which is also nice.

I have only tried the default theme for the web and I don’t like it. I don’t know if the UI can be changed. Boost is nice but has some things I really don’t like.

I just revanced the Sync app for hiding the ads. Let’s see what happens.

      Thanks!

I’m using Jerboa but my biggest issue with it is the search only looks for community names. It’s very limited. Otherwise I like it well enough.

I wish Artemis was still being developed. I loved it 😭

I try Jerboa but the search option is a deal breaker. I’m using Boost right now.

Boost was the first one I went to when Artemis development stalled. I used Boost on the other site. But it had weird ads so I decided to switch.

Someone else in this thread recommended Thunder so I already downloaded it lol

I haven’t heard of that. I will look into it. Thanks!

I was using Liftoff and currently use Eternity, but sadly neither are actively maintained (as of last time I checked), and Liftoff is in a non-functional state.

Eternity is a bad fork of Infinity for Reddit. Today I tried Liftoff but this instance (lemmy.today) for some reason is not supported so I can’t login. I surrender and I currently use Boost.

I too am using Firefox for lemmy.

        • It has uBlock Origin already, so any link I do follow through isn’t an ad infested hellhole.
        • It has multiple tabs, which I use a lot.
        • I can bookmark anything, maybe a post, a user profile, whatever, it works.
        • I consider the lack of notifications a pro

        Don’t know, never tried one.

I really don’t see why I’d need a special app for this one website when I can do everything in the browser already.
