Pacioretty has played only three games with the team. During those games, I thought he looked great, but that isn’t really representative of what a whole season might look like. The possibility of further injury is also very real.

However, even while injured he constantly spoke highly of the team and living in Raleigh. He has been really involved with the Hurricanes and often has teammates over for events. I don’t think a team friendly deal is out of the question - and if we can get that, I think resigning Pacioretty is a no brainer.

What are y’all’s thoughts?

It’s going to come down to price. It’s a big risk to sign him again after another injury like this and missing basically a full season. I think he wants to come back to the Canes but not sure he will take what GMDW is willing to pay.

True. If we resign him, and he suffers another injury, we are in the same situation as last season.

if he’s willing to sign for like half, then yes. So like 3-4mil. Honestly think that’s what he’s looking at getting in free agency even if its not from us.

However, I hope they kick the tires on potential deals for players like 1 of the big 4 from Toronto prior to deciding on Patches. Would rather have Nylander if thats at all possible. Really think this team needs that 1 extra elite scorer.
