But much more civil since they retreated back to lemmygrad after being given a ban for 5 days but not their adoraphobia alt

Use Connect for Android. I have blocked lemmygrad and I can block whatever other instances I want. It’s improved my Lemmy experience 10000% since I no longer have to look at edgy teen tankie memes.

Yes, I assumed it was a lemmy option, not a connect feature.

If it is to be implemented, there should be an option to block all communities, or commenters or both.

I’ve blocked the nsfw instances, to clean up my feed, but it means some user comments get suppressed too, as they have their account there.

Weird because your username sounds kind of NSFW

Well, I just sub to the communities I care about and never look at all, only subscribed. So I never see these fabled tankie or fascist memes, I only see the stuff I care about.

It’s also great in that I tend to not waste a ton of time here, I just read the new content and be done. If I want more, I go search for new communities to follow and join a bunch, then unsubscribe from the communities that end up having crap content.

    I’d like to block Lemmygrad/Lemmy.ml

I just set mine to not show NSFW. I’d rather not have such a broad filter, but there’s too much random porn polluting Lemmy.

I set it to show NSFW when I created my account since I’m used to that being a broad scope on Reddit, but so far as I’ve seen it almost exclusively refers to sexuality here. I’ve unchecked the “show NSFW” option when accessing my account by Firefox, but I still keep getting NSFW stuff on Memmy/Voyager. Not sure what the fix for that is.

So the only thing I can do is block communities, but it’d be so nice if I could block instances.
