Progressive neighborhoods in city cores are often no different in this regard.

EDIT: this is true. There are a lot of bitter folks that call city code enforcement on their neighbors for grass being too tall or for having native landscapes. Fight the cop within yourself.

Whether it’s true or not, it’s kind of weird you assumed anyone references is “progressive” or “not progressive”

HOAs are everywhere and I’ve never met anyone under the illusion that the HOA Karens/Kyles are strictly conservative.

      It’s a weirdly political comment on a non-political meme from a non-political meme page.

        HOAs are everywhere

Had to look that up, then lol’d because it must be some kind of special Freedom ©®™ that I’m too European to understand

Yes, the understanding was “everywhere in the US” since HOAs are pretty much exclusive to the US.

Nothing says freedom like forced conformity and rigid adherence to authoritarian power structures!

Most city cores don’t have HOAs as their housing stock predates the proliferation of HOAs. They also tend to be more progressive in comparison to suburban and exurban communities. Sorry for triggering something in you. HOAs are inherently political which the meme speaks to: the veneer of uniformity is more important than structural problems.
