Man, the boys never dissapoint. Every album I go in expecting that maybe this time it won’t gel with me but I’ve loved everything (even vibed with Timeland heaps).

Enjoyed the style and the whole concept of this one. Motor Spirit was a very strong start, and I liked Supercell -> Witchcraft but it hasn’t really clicked yet. But Gila Monster -> Flamethrower is some of the best stuff this band has done, holy shit. And to think there’s another album around the corner…

God yeah Dragon into Flamethrower is so awesome, absolutely brutal.

No details or release date yet, but this album is meant to be a ‘Yin’ part of a ‘Yin and Yang’ concept. I think the end of Flamethrower is a bit of a giveaway as to what the Yang might have in store.

Two listens so far. I’m definitely loving it and I think it’s hitting that great balance between progressive metal technicality and the catchy grooviness of thrash. There’s lots of great memorable riffs and sections, and I really love how there’s a consistent beat ticking throughout the more complicated time signatures (reminds me of the cross-tempos of the Timeland albums). Drumming is incredible too. Definitely a great first few impressions, I’m curious how well it’ll hold up over time.

Really good point about balance! I love all the complicated time signatures, but yeah, the polyrhythms keep it rolling.

Album absolutely rips. I love this more than ITRN, and I already loved that one a ton.

Dragon was already shaping up to be one of my favorite songs they had ever released; but Flamethrower is nuts.

Fuck me, this album rips and I love how they keep expanding their sound.

The drums on this entire album are nothing short of magnificent, and I’m really digging Stu’s throat singing.

Prediction for next new album (after the synth one that’s coming next): Since the boys seemed so inspired by the dead and co show, I think we’re gonna get some harmonic vocal Gizz soon.

I really dig the vocals too. They sometimes remind me of the vocals Jason Newsted would do live when he was with Metallica.

Finally got around to giving it my first listen. Blown away, as usual. Flamethrower is a real standout on the first listen.

I generally don’t listen to thrash, never connected much with ITRN either, but man, this hits hard!

So many great moments on this album! The weaving of influences makes this so lovable and it will be highly ranked in their catalog for me. Either going to be my favorite or second to Ice Death at this point.

Max Rockatansky would boogie to this and I love that they’ve taken us to that hellscape.

Man I’m about to go to sleep, but I know what I’m listening to on repeat tomorrow!
