I have no idea how/why some people decided that she’s the exemplar that should be representing them.

Not even the whole state. Just a really, really dumb corner of the state. She represents the 14th district (upper left on map). It’s mostly rural with a population of 779,321 (as of 2022).

In 2020, she won with 229,837 votes; her Democratic challenger only got 77,798. I’m not sure what percentage of the total population is eligible to vote, but it’s possible voter apathy partly led to her election.

That is to say : Get out and vote!

Oops, my mistake. I think I read that she represents Georgia and mistook that to mean more than is actually the case. I’ll edit that and thanks for correcting me! At least that makes it a bit better if not exactly great.

She “represents” Georgia in that my opinion of the state drops every time I have to think about her, lol, so you weren’t totally off.

She’s a House representative, so she only officially represents the district that elected her. Senators, though, do represent the whole state that elected them since they’re not based on districts.

Still, that’s almost a quarter of a million people who looked at her and went “yes, this is exactly the sort of person I want representing me in the House”
