When I was a kid my dad would fall asleep during his show and we wouldn’t change the channel… then he would wake up in the middle of the next show that came on, deny having ever gone to sleep, and accuse whoever else was in the room of changing the channel when he wasn’t looking

My dad would put golf on the big color tv in the house and also have it running on the small black and white tv in the garage. We weren’t allowed to change it because he’d move back and forth between those two spaces while doing whatever it was he did in the garage and he didn’t want to miss anything. This was pre-DVR, of course.

I’d agree if it weren’t for the fact that my Dad is the one that would wake up and change the channel, then fall back to sleep

Literally my mum too… they don’t watch it, but like the soothing backgroud noise.

Yup! My best friend’s dad would crash out in front of the TV, but if we changed the channel he would wake up and go “Hey! I was watching that!”.
