Plasma is undoubtedly the best desktop, unless you prefer something like Gnome, Openbox, Mate, XFCE, Budgie, Cinnamon, Sway…

You mean individualist disrespecting any standards, Xorg, Xorg, Xorg, Xorg, Xorg and a half-baked Wayland compositor?

“Chocolate is the best ice cream!”

“Yeah, unless you like other flavors.”

        “You mean other gross flavors?”

No. GNOME is an alternative. The rest is all based on the old, broken monolith XOrg. They are working on Wayland support, and in 1-2 years they may be real alternatives.

No offense intended, but you seem to have missed the point.

Calling Plasma the best is an opinion. Liking Gnome or any other DE is an opinion. The things you like about Plasma may not be things that somebody else likes or cares about, and that doesn’t make them wrong.

Regarding all the missing protocols, I am sure GNOME and KDE have more of them as they are all really new

Fedora Kinoite beta/nightly too. Based on current Fedora with coming KDE Plasma. Works pretty well.

      rpm-ostree rebase --reboot ostree-unverified-registry:quay.io/fedora-ostree-desktops/kinoite-beta

I think that was the command. Confused a bit, even though I use it so I can check the remote name in a few days.

It’s merged into NixOS but it will take a day or two to be compiled and saved in the binary cache. You can track that here.
