I love short games that I can play at least two times.

I’ve replayed every Uncharted or Killzone at least two times, but I’d never do that with a game like FFVII rebirth.

It doesn’t mean that FFVII is bad (I loved it in the end), but it’s important for me that they keep producing short games with a lot of replayability.

For instance, having a different trophy for every difficulty is a big incentive for me.

Also, as much as I enjoy open worlds, I don’t think every game should become one.

Regarding the graphics, I don’t think I would ever need something better looking than Last of Us part. 2. I think it would be better to focus on some details like trees or building popping up in front of the player as it takes me out of the game.

Beyond a threshold, adding polygons and texture resolution increases visual fidelity only by a diminishing amount with each step. Better to focus on innovative gameplay, world design, and better writers.

I hear him on the length, but not the graphics. As an adult, it takes me years to finish a game like RDR2. But damn do I love some realistic graphics.

As an adult, innovative gameplay and/or mechanics interest me way more than graphics. I’ll take Fez or Yoku’s Island Express over graphical fidelity any day of the week. To a certain extent high quality graphics just becomes a measure of how much electricity and money you are willing to throw at a game and that’s just not interesting to me. Length, one way or the other, is largely irrelevant to me as long as the game is satisfying. The relatively short length of the original Portal made that game more impactful imo. A game that’s too long can often wear out it’s welcome.

I think it’s funny that people felt the need to downvote your opinion. People can like different things. It’s allowed and should be encouraged.

Gamers do be like that tho…

It can get worse, have you ever tried going online to play a paradox game?
