So we all thought that this island of clouds was the possible location for the DLC up until it was shown to be in a “different” realm, however…

The Shadow Realm appears to be at the exact center of TLB. Meaning that, even though the main map wasn’t changed to reflect it, these lands are probably located under that shroud of clouds, obscured by magic.

    I havent gotten very far in the expansion yet, but i was really sure the whole shadow of the erdtree was going to be some flipped version of the original map like in the past or something.

    Still, i have enjoyed the couple hours ive put into it so far.

      It would be kinda cool to see the world as it was before it got all fucked up. Like, pristine condition. None of the upheaval, everything is still being maintained, etc. I’m sure at some point, the place was actually nice to be in.

        That’s true with most of the souls games. There were most likely real economies and families. It’s always the lack of true death that brings out the chaos of the world. Especially in Dark Souls where people lose their humanity from dying too much.

    I saw a post somewhere someone fit the site map inside the map of the main game and it fits perfectly (mostly there is some overlap but not much)
