      Maybe this rally indicates that when the ‘not left, not right, but center’ crowd is forced to make a choice they won’t empower the Petainists.

        Nah, has always been brewing… but really began to pick up steam in the last 10 years or so. Guess it varies a bit depending on the country.

        Right-wing tendencies are a knee-jerk reaction to increased immigration, which we’ll only see more of as climate refugees flee to more temperate zones. The world will shift to the right. This is going to get worse before it gets better, sadly.

    I have a lot of respect for the passion the French put into protesting, although I do worry about their blood pressure sometimes.

      This isn’t going to “push” people to do anything. They always were going to vote for Le Pen. They just blame the protesters for it because they want them to shut up so they can be shitty and not have anyone make them feel bad about it.
