So you’re telling me that my single puny brain is susceptible to influence and manipulation techniques which have been actively used and perfected for centuries?

Well my good sir, I don’t believe you

Well, the problem is that we see so many other people fall for propaganda we recognize as ridiculous.

I see what you’re trying to do here and I won’t fall for your Mongolian propaganda techniques!

God damn Mongoriens! Always trying to break my shitty wall!

Everything I believe is correct though, so if I see something that agrees with what I already believe, it can’t possibly be propaganda.

It’s just what they want you to believe. They don’t want you to be successful.

Every logo on every product is an ad. Not to mention everything you come across on a stroll through town. Unless youre living that unabomber lifestyle you’re absolutely exposed to ads.

Oooo, while I do feel that I am very aware of, and hostile to, intrusive advertising online I have actually bought a few things specifically because I had seen them in an ad. It makes me feel a little conflicted but all of those things were extremely niche, so it took extremely targeted ads for things I would have eventually found on my own to actually make the sale.

I’m inoculated more for certain types for sure - but it’s based on what I’ve been around already. I do think certain types of people - analytical types are slightly better at spotting it & avoiding & the types that just love to learn & to change their minds based on scientific evidence. To me that’s all we can hope for.

If your idea of truth though comes from a god or spirit then you are just stumbling in the dark.

For science journalism sure? Maybe some shit with pharma. But in general not really unless you mean like education which may or may not be counted depending on definition.

What I can say is that Bill Nye and Kent Hovind are entirely different forms if they are both propaganda. Also one of them is infinitely more harmful than the other and it ain’t the man with the catchy theme song.
