July 2 (Reuters) - Donald Trump’s lawyers plan to ask that his May conviction on criminal charges stemming from hush money paid to a porn star be set aside due to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling this week on presidential immunity, according to the New York Times.
Yes, Trump had sex with a porn star and schemed to silence her before he took office, so tossing this case on the grounds it was an “Official Act of the President” is an absurd assertion. But absurdity is also Trump’s modus operandi, so it fits he would try to overturn it.
Apparently, his lawyers are arguing to delay the sentencing and toss out the trial because “some” evidence came from when Trump was in office.
He’s going to do this for every single charge. Every one. He’d be stupid not to.
There’s going to be endless flood of “news” about it each and every time. The actual real news will be if it succeeds or not.
Of course.
The real strategy is to (at a minimum) delay until after the election where if he wins he will be untouchable.
So far, that’s worked out perfectly for him. Each time he succeeds is a small victory.
