Btw, something that really confused me when I was younger: “98% effectiveness” doesn’t mean a condom works 98% of the time, and 2% of the time you can get pregnant.

It actually means that 98% of people that use a condom never get pregnant, and 2% do (over some amount of time I’m guessing? I’m not sure).

That 2% includes forgetting to use one, running out and being too horny to abstain, and various other excuses for why you’re not wearing one when you’ve agreed beforehand that you would.

I believe it’s over a period of one year.

Yep, using a condom and it working as it should is 100% effective, but they can’t say that because if it breaks or someone wears one that’s too big then it would open them to lawsuits

Not so. The 98% figure assumes correct use of the condom every time. In the real world where people are imperfect, condoms are only about 87% effective.

This constantly came up in WoW, from the opposite direction.

      A 2% drop rate doesn’t mean a 100% chance 2% of the time, it means a 2% chance 100% of the time.

The human brain does a very poor job at understanding chance. A lot of games use seeded pseudo-randomness for this reason. They’ll even give the player a slightly better percentage than advertised and there will still be people calling foul.

The little eye is where the string goes. The wings are down during insertion and then released inside the uterus. The only part a phallus should ever touch is the string. There are also a variety of IUDs now and none of them look like the solid metal monstrosity in the picture. They are mostly plastic.

Edit: I guess I should mention as someone who has one that they are not exactly fun to get inserted. Most doctors don’t numb you or give you anything to soften the cervix. Take some ibuprofen and suck it up. However, I would never go back to other forms of birth control. No periods. No remembering to take a pill. No crying in the fetal position in a pool of blood and pain. No more hormone induced mania. The list goes on…

I don’t exactly want to describe what I was picturing, but it’s a relief that only the string is exposed. I didn’t attempt to reach all the way there, but a few times I got carried away so I just yeah. Looked like a good way to teach me a quick lesson

Trying not to read too far into your comment, but this may be relevant or at least useful information.

Beware of “bumping” the cervix too hard. If she gets cramps or pain afterwards, find a different position. If you don’t know, ask. Also check if the cervix is retroverted (tipped), which brings the strings a lot closer to the vaginal opening and can also explain why you may need a different position. I had to have my strings shortened due to this. You can also request to have your strings shortened later if they are causing problems.

I mean I’m fine, read too much into it. It was my ex, the literal only person I’ve been with, and it was pretty much just the one position always since highschool (so I have a lot to learn missing out on 16 years of that).

She did have the retroverted thing so that may be why it was so easy to bump it. I mean I’m not like freakishly huge. I think. Actually now that I’m thinking about it, there’s a fuck load I don’t know and its really sort of causing me to freak out a bit.

A pussy inductor! Incredible idea! You can do so many things with that! You could receive energy from a Tesla coil right in the pussy. Ok that’s about all the uses I have figured out already. But the possibilities are endless! And you could end Trump’s campaign! Just let him grab that puppy, wait until it’s out and zap the fucker at full power! See how useful it is to know politician’s weak spots?
