Proton has been dropping huge updates for a few weeks now. Phone backup I’m particularly excited to use now (and ditch iCloud)

It works decent with rclone but a first party solution would be nice.

Allows you assign which apps go through the VPN and which don’t. Useful for only tunneling say, Netflix, but keeping Plex from using the VPN.

      Edit: typo

Sweet! Though I already setup split tunneling in my router because they didn’t have it at the time.

I don’t work for Proton. I copied and posted this here because they announced it everywhere else except here, and the mods last post/comment was from 6 days ago.

The product kinda sells itself through word of mouth. They’re not even here. Sincerely good stuff.

I have no idea WTF Android TV is

Bruh you living under a rock? LOL This is what pretty much every TV uses.

I feel there’s a missed opportunity for couple of sentences of broader scope product eduction.

This is a social media post. You expect them to explain the entirety of their business in every social media post? Go to their website if you want to learn more about them.

Short version is: they’re a company offering a suite of products, all of which utilize zero-knowledge encryption, and they’re located in Switzerland, started by scientists from CERN.

If you don’t care about android TV then this post isn’t for you. If you want that info then go look it up yourself. It doesn’t matter if this hit the front page or not people don’t need to put specs into every post on the off chance it might end up on the front page.
