The GOP can get fucked. They foment violence, that energy reflects back.
Trump’s Project 2025 is not changed just because one of their own people was violent one time. The underlying truth of the situation has not changed, just moved closer to the logical conclusion when you try to end civil rights and install a dictatorship in the US. That ensures violence, and everyone will be caught in it at some point or another.
Democratics should be taking the opportunity to point out that this is emblematic of the chaos Trump brings, and they should be listing all the right-wing violence that’s been inflicted by his supporters since 2016.
Dems should not be cowed into tacitly taking ownership of this shooting. It’s Trump, this is what he and the Republicans have to offer.
Now if only we could get this point to leadership to actually do something
