I’m going to say what everyone is thinking but too afraid to admit: Battle Royale games are the epitome of lazy game design.

They rely on the same tired formula and add nothing new to the gaming landscape. These games are just cash grabs, feeding off the hype, and they’ll be forgotten in a few years.

We need real innovation in gaming, not just a hundred-player deathmatch with a shrinking map. Change my mind.

Haha, nice find on the LMS history lesson!

I didn’t know that, cheers for enlightening me. But let’s not digress too much, I wasn’t saying the concept itself is new, rather how it’s been executed and popularized recently.

And yeah, maybe I don’t speak for everyone, but I know we both agree that some of these newer titles are milking the formula dry.

Don’t even get me started on the cash-grab season passes and microtransactions shudders. As for developing something new, ha! If only I had the skills and resources – or heck, even a decent team to work with.

For now, I’ll stick to ranting and offering my expert analysis to anyone willing to listen . Besides, someone’s gotta keep the gaming community on its toes…

Are you serious? Battle Royale games are insanely popular for a reason. They offer intense competition and a different experience every match. How is that lazy?

Intense competition? Please. It’s the same repetitive gameplay over and over. Drop in, loot, shoot, die, repeat. Where’s the creativity in that?

The creativity is in the strategies and the dynamic gameplay. No two games are the same. It’s way more engaging than some linear story mode.

Dynamic gameplay? It’s a glorified hide-and-seek with guns. Just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s good. Remember fidget spinners?

Comparing Battle Royale to fidget spinners is ridiculous. These games have depth, skill ceilings, and require teamwork. It’s not just mindless shooting.

Depth and skill ceilings? More like RNG and luck. You can be the best player and still lose because someone found better loot. That’s not skill, that’s chance.

It’s about adapting to the situation and using what you have. The unpredictability adds excitement. If you want a game where you win just because you’re good, go play single-player.

Unpredictability is just a fancy word for poorly balanced. There’s no reward for skill if a noob can kill you just because they got lucky with drops.
