The impact that battery storage has had on California’s grid in such a short time is dramatic. There was an NYTimes article earlier this year unpaywalled gift link that shows power delivery for April 2021 and 2024. In just 3 years, batteries went from almost nothing to providing about 1/5 of the power in the early evenings. That’s absolutely bonkers.
