We take a look at B.O.O, an otherworldly animated film that DreamWorks cancelled when it was nearly complete.

Here’s a piece I wrote a couple of years ago. I hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, I’ve written a few pieces for Film Stories over a several years. I’ve got writers block now, can’t think of anything to write about. 😆

Awesome article! Thanks for sharing it. I don’t remember ever hearing about B.O.O before. To be honest I’m not super familiar with a lot of the 2010 DreamWorks stuff outside of the super big franchises so it was nice to learn a little more.

You’re welcome, thank you. I only became aware of it because of the Amazon listing for a colouring book that was never released.

I wonder the same thing about Coyotte vs ACME. It’s crazy to me how cancelling a movie nearly complete seems to be a better alternative to studios than just releasing it, somehow.

The closest we’ve got is this two and a half minute crew reel, which is all behind the scene’s footage. From what you can see, I think they did a great job of bringing Loony Tunes to life. Warner Bros even went around trying to delete this footage as well.

One of the videos I shared in the article was about two minutes of animation but it’s since been blocked.

You’re best off searching sites like Vimeo where takedowns don’t usually happen as the big companies tend to concentrate on YouTube.
