Pretty shameful. I’m glad my fraternity embraces trans men, and explicitly allows for their entry in our national bylaws. Greek life needs to get with the times.

Ironic since it’s highly unlikely that any of them are actually Greek.

I’m not American, but frats etc seem deeply anti social.

Isn’t it just… Legitimised bullying and exclusion?

i assume it’s to prepare students to life outside, where they will be bullied and excluded

Outside what? School? .because school is where the vast majority if exclusion and bullying takes place into be world… No ody is more experienced with bullying than people for ed to be in schools with eachother.

The basic premise of what you’re tryna say doesn’t make sense.

Ideally it’s a social club. I didn’t plan on joining a fraternity in college, but I was invited to join by friend who were in one. It’s a specifically anti hazing organization and has a leadership education program that we all did that probably would have been really useful if I wasn’t a shit head college student. I still play D&D with friends I made there who I may not have met otherwise.

Like any social club the culture comes from the members, if you have a bunch of exclusionary bullies then that’s what you get, and that’s all too common.

How bigoted, the trans black men should start their own fraternity and invite all black men to join.

I’ve been saying this for a while. Once the racist white underbelly realizes they have a useful idiot in bigoted immigrants and religious zealots by synergizing their hatred we are fucked.

Varinder from India may not hate other races like John from Mississippi but what they both agree on is there’s only 2 genders and gay people shouldn’t be allowed to marry.

I’m not trying to be obtuse, but isn’t that essentially what being transgender means?

The reason “men identifying as women” isn’t a correct description of transgender women is because “men” and “women” can’t have two simultaneous definitions in that sentence. It adds confusion and is essentially a dog-whistle for educated bigots while also incorrectly portraying it as a sort of paradox so simple minded or uneducated bigots can feel like it’s some sort of obvious contradiction that libruls are too dumb to realize.

You’re using “men” to describe gender-assigned-at-birth and you’re using “women” in the context of our modern scientific understanding of gender identity. Either you accept contemporary science and so they’re not “men” doing the identifying, or you reject modern scientific understanding and conclude that it’s just some silly men that think they’re women and what next they’ll identity as trees lol what if I identify as a billionaire lol.

I see. What’s the correct modern science word for “adult male (XY)”, if not “man”?

Nope. That’s just people living their identities. You and I don’t get to decide who they are.
