Anime has varied styles just like western animation does. A comedy show won’t use that style as the lead of a comedy show, unless mocking that style like Metalocalypse or something. Homer would probably look like a character from Crayon Shin Chan or Genma from Ranma 1/2 or something.

This is like saying if Homer was in a comic and choosing a gritty marvel look instead of newspaper comics.
