I thought it was some sovcit thing, claiming to be their own city.
Man I’d like some background on this one.
I found this article published on the website of a TV station in Cleveland, Ohio, about 50km from Elyria. I had to use a VPN to access it, so here’s the most important bit:
Elyria man removes vulgar sign criticizing city’s permit requirements after week on display
The message “F*** you City of Elyria, it’s my property not yours” covered a large plywood sign on full display for drivers.
“I have gotten a lot of threats through Facebook about it. You know, ‘You need to take that down, it’s vulgar language, it’s kids,’ whatnot," homeowner William Grabrovac said. "I understand that situation, but if you go walk up and down the streets, there’s a lot of f-- Biden signs flying around. What’s the difference?”
Grabrovac put up the message after the City of Elyria issued him a notice of violations for extending his driveway and adding a pergola without a permit. The sign stayed for the next seven days.
(…) He says he was making a statement with the sign, showing that he disagreed with the city’s permit requirements and didn’t understand why he was limited in making alterations to his property.
On Thursday, after a full week with the sign on display, Grabrovac met with the city and they came to an agreement.
(…) Now, Grabrovac can keep the gravel as long as he doesn’t park there. He promised to take the sign down and get the required permits for his home.
Okay this guy sounds nuts but he kinda got a point about the Biden signs though
Not that nuts. A lot of municipalities get a little too enthusiastic about their codes.
The man wanted to add a pergola and a gravel turnaround. It’s not like he’s putting on an addition or running new electric or gas lines. He was making minor changes to his own property and the local government got a stick up their ass because they don’t like people having cars parked in their turnarounds.
Yeah just a little nuts because codes can be fucking ridiculous. Like the HOA a lot of it is just a veiled means of pushing out “undesirables” which just means not a fucking WASP

These people whinge so much about children not reading anything inappropriate then line up the school bus route with signs that say “FUCK” in bold caps.
Has there been any other time in history that had this much profanity littered everywhere?
I’m not so much bothered by actual profanity so much as the fucking hypocrisy. It’s thick enough to each with a spoon

It would have cost less and taken less effort to get a proper permit
