Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, known as KSM, is widely considered the architect of the attack, in which hijackers seized passenger planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon outside of Washington.

He was subjected to a number of “enhanced interrogation techniques”, including “waterboarding” - simulated drowning - at least 183 times before the practice was banned by the US government.

Yikes, but also, literally planned 9/11, but yikes.

The alleged planner of the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, was arrested in Pakistan in 2003.

He was subjected to a number of “enhanced interrogation techniques”, including “waterboarding” - simulated drowning - at least 183 times before the practice was banned by the US government.

Kind of silly to call this a plea deal and act like it’s just justice as usual. There’s two decades of torture behind it, how can he plead to anything? I also doubt he had a choice between a trial and a plea in any case, it was probably that or back to the torture dome.

I’m sure they have a mountain of evidence but this feels like really gross pandering.
