      Yes.

Doug Demuro basically called James out a week or so ago and told him to start a new channel. I don’t know if that had anything to do with the timing of James long format essay of a vlog post.

Nah a lot of people have been running away from donut. They grew huge during COVID, and a lot of people were hired on as presenters, but they wound up being given a lot of other duties, like writing and editing. Then you had the buy out, where suddenly they had to answer to corpos who wanted to appeal to the algorithm, instead of making compelling content (like the old science stuff, and automotive history pieces).

So now you’ve got donut releasing dumb reaction videos, and the people who helped build it are moving onto their own projects.

Basically Donut was bought out and, just like everything that has ever been bought ever, the new owners are pushing sponsored content over everhthing else, because of money. Donut is no longer about the love of cars, its now about the love of money.

It was a matter of time! James was practically the face of donut. Man deserved better than a money chasing, seo algorithm optimized channel doing reaction videos

I think they’ve just got Nolan. It’s he’s stocking around, I hope they’re paying him the big bucks.
