Nuclear isn’t a viable solution for some, if not all, of these groups for the following reasons:
Lack of Expertise
So train people? Like what? If everyone already a solar expert? How is this an issue when we face global warming?
Time
So better start right now? We have no alternative to fill the gaps.
Placement
I am sure when they were able to find spots 50 years ago and find them today elsewhere, we will find them today too.
Waste Problem
Not a problem with the new generations, they run in the “waste” of current nuclear power plants.
Regulatory Problems
Ah, so if people do not want to see wind turbines and hence there are regulations against building them within 10 km of anyone… Well tough luck environment. It is the other way around. If we actually want nuclear we can adapt regulations.
Public Perception
So just hail it as the solution instead of pushing bullshit hydrogen?
Weapons
Not with gen 4.
Security
Costs money. Some money to provide security is irrelevant compared to global warming.
Costs
What is the alternative? More global warming? So it is cheap?
You know what really isn’t a viable solution for most countries? Coal.
Yep, that’s why most of them are turning it off.
