I used to order road signs for a city. With my pathological inability for attention to detail, they quickly realized I should not be ordering signs.
The signs were all there that you shouldn’t have been doing that job.
People were being welcomed to “Whistable” rather than Whitstable until a sharp-eyed passenger flagged up the misspelling.
