“It’s the right choice to appeal to the voters we need, to maintain this amazing unity and energy, to win this existential election, and then to do what Walz did in MN—enact the popular Democratic agenda that will improve people’s lives.”
I really don’t know why I’ve been so anxious about the VP pick. I’ve been checking news sites the last few days just hoping it wasn’t Shapiro. I checked a few sites that discuss known stances a politician has and he seemed like the safe “wall st” guy so I really didn’t want to see him picked.
Those VP betting site bros are probably fuming as they pretty much all thought it would be Shapiro.
Very happy to see Walz picked! Kelly was just a dumb option, why risk the Senate?
Agreed. I was a bit surprised that it didn’t end up being Shapiro. If not Walz, I would’ve hoped for Buttigieg, partially just to see him tear Vance apart in a debate.
Like all humans, Walz ain’t perfect, but he’s an excellent choice for the ticket. Idk what he’ll be criticized for in the coming months, but I hope it’s easily debunked lies, minor shit, and/or understandable mistakes. I wish he were 15 years younger, but then he wouldn’t have those 15 years of productive experience to be who he is, so I guess he’s kinda looking like a full slam dunk at the moment?
Shapiro would have stirred voter dissent over the Gaza genocide, as Shapiro is a pretty well known Zionist. Dems know they don’t need infighting now, especially as the GOP is on the back foot
Well I know that, but the DNC tends to be totally tone-deaf when it comes to that sort of thing. I’m pleasantly surprised by the appeal to the growing progressive chunk of the party and country. For the first time in like 8 years, I’m excited and hopeful for the future. I’m only 35; I just thought that hopelessness was a given starting in your thirties lol.
