An online row has broken out between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Tesla CEO Elon Musk over anti-immigration riots in the UK.
More than a dozen cities and towns have been gripped by chaotic protests, triggered by a deadly knife attack in Southport, England.
Musk claimed that “civil war was inevitable,” commenting a video on X (formerly Twitter) that showed the street clashes. The video was posted by a user that suggested the root cause was mass immigration to the UK and open-border policies.
Downing Street hit back against the statement. “There is no justification for comments like that,” Starmer’s spokesperson told reporters, calling the riots “organized, illegal thuggery which has no place on our streets or online.”
The prime minister slammed the actions of troublemakers, and pledged to field a “standing army of public duty officers” in response.
“The criminal law applies online as well as offline, and I’m assured that is the approach that is being taken,” Starmer said in a statement released on X. “Whatever the apparent motivation, this is not protest. It is pure violence, and we will not tolerate attacks on mosques or our Muslim communities,” he stressed.
If there’s one thing the government of the UK and England in particular has always been good at, it’s pounding indigenous people into the dirt. Without Empire they’re back to doing it on their home islands again.
LOL that is a rich observation
They’re not indigenous in Britain. Now they’re pounding immigrants into the dirt.
I’m talking about the English, the Scottish, the Irish, and the Welsh when I refer to the indigenous people.
Ok thanks for the clarification.
I wanna see musk naked O_O
Bahahahahaha
I think you might be disappointed.
Nah lol
Posting RT (Russia Today) is despicable
My philosophy is actually to consume as diverse sources as I can to get a more balanced view and be exposed to alternative ways of perceiving what is going on. ^^
It isn’t the russian perspective, or factual. It’s specifically designed for “western consumption” and it’s only purpose is to manipulate people outside of Russia. Russia is very good at social engineering. They put a lot of effort and money into it. But the whole reason RT exists in many languages is that they want to influence people in those countries. It has no purpose other that to tell you and your countrymen what the Kremlin wants you and your countrymen to hear. It has nothing at all to do with “the russian perspective”.
RT is literally a Russian propaganda machine.
Yes, it presents the Russian perspective, which is vital to know when criticizing NATO and the West.
Don’t you want to criticize the West?
Oh “the west” is not without their demons, for sure. It’s just a lesser of two evils thing. There are many aspects of both foreign and domestic policy that I’m highly critical of. The difference between the “west” and Russia is that I’m allowed to be critical of the government without being sent to a gulag/falling out of a window/being sent to soak up bullets in Ukraine.
You know I actually know quite a few Russians where I live and weirdly, none of them are too eager to return home. One colleague of mine told me that the border guards can confiscate his passport for any imperfections no matter how small and arrest him for trying to enter the country on a false passport.
He seemed convinced that the possibility is high enough that he said he wasn’t going to see his family until the war was over.
